19-SC-001895

Update: June 2020
Suspended until I obtain legal representation

Faced with insurmountable odds as a pro-se Plaintiff vs. Granite city’s seemingly unlimited legal resources, the Judge has graciously allowed me to voluntarily withdraw my case with the option to re-file within one years time. I plan to reopen this case once I acquire legal council. Please see my Amended Complaint for the relevant details of my case.

Small Claims Filing for return of $600 Bail + any other compensation deemed just by the court

As of 6/7/2019 I am now the plaintiff in a small claims case versus Granite city over ticket 378. Due to my unjust arrest carried out by Granite city police in 2017, I am seeking the full return of my son’s $600 paid as my cash bail, as well as any additional compensation as the Court deems appropriate. Ticket 378 ORIGINAL INFORMATION:

Ticket 378 was presided over by judge [REDACTED], the same municipal “judge” as in ticket 153, allegedly due to unknown individuals occupying a property I own in Granite city without being listed on the occupancy permit. It should be noted that these unknown individuals were staying at my property without my approval, and therefore they were for all intents and purposes trespassing.

Strangely, I was the first person to notify the city of the unapproved occupants, and I had already filed for the eviction of the aforementioned occupants before ticket 378 was issued. Instead of logically proceeding by evicting the “illegal” occupants I had reported, and charging them with the violation of the city ordinance, Granite city officials chose to pursue the case against me instead. Eventually having me arrested for the alleged code violation, regardless of the fact that I had made all reasonably expected efforts to fully resolve the issue on my end.

The relevant public case filings detailing this incident are linked below with explanation:

Even though Granite city officials decided to drop the contrived charges against me after my release, they refused to fully refund my son’s $600, paid for my “cash bail” because of ticket 378, regardless of Granite city officials all but admitting they blundered in ticket 378.

Below: My 5-Day notice, filed after the aforementioned events, on July 13th, requesting the (full) return of the $600.00 paid by my son as my cash bail (The bail has not yet been fully returned).
